A Mild Winter Day Outfit

HI EVERYONE!

I wore this outfit on a very warm day in the middle of our southern winter.  Please don't hate me because it reached into the 80's one day.  It was only one day.
I took advantage of the mild weather and wore this short sleeve t-shirt with my shooties.
This is one of the shirts I bought in Florida at the Macy's after Christmas sale.  Yay, for an opportunity to wear it!  I love blouses with the chiffon trim on the bottom.  It just adds a touch of girly and whimsy to a t-shirt or sweatshirt.

A

This outfit was just fun.  So I had to put a ponytail with it.  My hair isn't long enough for a ponytail so I have to use an extension that I have that attaches to my crown.
It gives me a short but much thicker ponytail than my real hair would allow.
I have to pin my hair up in the back because it is so short.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blogs.  I really appreciate it.

Number Five of My 14 Favorites from 2014

Number Five of My 14 Favorites from 2014

Hi Everyone!
Everyone was challenged on YouTube by Nathalie, TheBeautyDiva to come up with their favorite 14 items of 2014.  Most of mine were not makeup since I had just started my channel and had already talked about all my favorite makeup items.  So I decided to come up with a list of items that I used every day or that I would quickly replace if lost or broken.

Nathalie's channel link:

I thought I would make a daily blog of each item one by one.

#5.  Chi Flat Iron

I bought my original Chi back around 2004 or so.  This was before they were mass produced and you had to buy them from hair stylists in and around Houston.  This was a game changer in my life.  It turned my frizzy, cotton ball hair into the longed for stick, straight styles that were so popular.
My Chi was confiscated on a cruise a couple of years ago because I made the mistake of packing it into my checked baggage.  Always carry these on board with you.  They confiscate anything that could cause a fire.  My Joy Mangano Little Steamer was also confiscated.  I had to use my step daughter's Chi which was one of the mass produced ones.  It was not the same.  When I got back home I had to go on a quest to find another one closest to the one I had.  I found one.  I will put a link below.

There are many good flat irons out there now.  I am just partial to this brand since it was what I started with.  They now make one that has slightly rounded plates.  It is still a flat iron but it can make it easier to curl your hair.  Yes, you can curl your hair with a flat iron too.  There are many YouTube videos that will show you how.

Number Four of My 14 Favorites from 2014

#4.  Velcro Rollers

My fourth and fifth items are also hair related.  My hair is so fine that it will not hold a curl and falls flat against my head.  I found a way to tease my hair that gives me volume.  It involves using Velcro rollers.

I bought mine at Albertson’s, but you can find these at many different stores.  Here is a link to Walmart’s online purchasing.  The cost here is around 8-9 dollars.  They are worth that to try them if you have fine hair like mine.

I take one section of my hair starting at my crown with my cow lick.  My cow lick is my nemesis.  With each section do the following in this order:
  1. Tease
  2. Hairspray
  3. Go over tease with flat iron
  4. Wrap in a Velcro roller

With my hair cut in a bob, this is the only way I can wear it so that it will stay in that cute bob shape.  Otherwise my hair will go in many different directions.

#3.  Fake Hair Pieces (Crazy Hair)

The third item making my favorite list for 2014 were my Fake Hair Pieces.  My granddaughter calls them my crazy hair.  I have bought several brands and several colors over the years. I color and highlight my hair so having several in slightly different colors helps me match my hair.  Colored hair fades and I have some that vary from dark to light, some that have more red tones and some with more dark tones.

These will really make your life easier.  It is so fast and easy to get ready in the mornings when you don’t have to worry about your hair.
I just put my hair up in a high pony tail and bobby pin or clip the hair piece in place.

Here are some pictures with my hair up this past year.

You can buy these at Sally’s or order online.  I have bought the following brands:

My Irresistible Me Hair Extensions

Hi Everyone!

I bought some Irresistible Me Hair Extensions during the summer but never wore them because it was too hot.  I low lighted them as soon as I received them following two videos on YouTube. I bought them through Nisha's 10% off discount code on her channel called SugarPuffandFluff.  She also shows how to low light them.  I also watched the channel Hairgirl247.

I took them out a few days ago and cut them just a little longer than my own bob.  I mainly wanted them to give me volume rather than length.  Here are some pictures after I finished cutting them.

Here you can see how the back of my hair looks.

I am always trying to change up my hair.  These extensions give me an alternative to my shorter, thinner normal hair.
